I use Scratchpad throughout my entire day as an Account Executive. I use it to take notes for all of my calls which can be linked to the SFDC opportunity and it auto-updates every time I make changes in SP. I also use it to update my SFDC pipeline. Their UI makes it easy to make mass edits and changes to SFDC fields without the extra clicks that Salesforce makes you go through. It's integrated into Chrome so every time I open a new tab it's Scratchpad which makes it really convenient to access. It has helped my productivity tremendously.
  • Salesforce pipeline updates
  • Note taking - linked to SFDC
  • Note taking linked to GCal events
  • Tasks management
  • More editing options for notes like font colors, better customization for lists (numbers, bullets, etc)
  • Show dependencies when updating SFDC Opps.
  • View my GCal events on the Scratchpad homepage
  • Ability to create tables in notes
I think for what it's built for it's pretty near perfect. Don't expect this to be as sophisticated as a rev intelligence tool like Clari. Scratchpad is simply a productivity tool for sales reps who use Salesforce to take notes and update fields easily. Their UI is super intuitive to use and there was a very small learning curve. I gave it a 9 because there are areas for improvement, like more text/font customization options and creating tables in notes.

I and some others on my team use Scratchpad as a more convenient and quick way of interacting with our opportunities from Salesforce. I found that Salesforce lightning is actually very slow, and it seems that using Scratchpad is actually a much faster process. It's also a lot easier to customize and modify my reports, due to Scratchpad's interface just being so much more user-friendly.
  • Reviewing Accounts or Opportunities
  • Adding notes
  • Saving workflows for frequent Salesforce processes
  • I'd love to be able to do even more of what I do in Saleforce in Scratchpads interface.
  • It would be nice to be able to update fields that require a workflow in Salesforce via Scratchpad
Frankly, if I can do something in Scratchpad instead of Salesforce, I prefer Scratchpad because it's faster, easier, simpler, with a much more readable and useable interface. Salesforce has been getting requests to allow font size modification for over a decade and hasn't even done that. That's what sent me looking for something like Scratchpad. I sort of view it as a much more user-friendly UI to layover SF. It's faster and less frustrating than SF for frequent daily activities. It's great for creating notes and tracking tasks at a basic level in a much more user friendly environment than Salesforce. But it interacts w/ SF, which is great!

Currently, I use an individual account for pipeline management and notes features every day. It is much easier to update and organise my opportunities in Scratchpad than doing it in Salesforce. It automatically updates relevant fields as well in Salesforce. The Scratchpad team is also amazingly fast at developing new features, which are making it even more effective day by day.
  • Scratchpad pipeline management and admin work easy
  • I enjoy easy call notes feature integrated to my calendar events
  • Quick integration with Salesforce
  • Plugin works flawlessly
  • I honestly can not think of any improvement point. The existing features work perfectly. More features like reports and dashboards could be nice to have.
If you use Salesforce and manage a book of business, Scratchpad is great to use.

Problems
  • Internal sales force has bloated field structure, too many unnecessary ones
  • Reports for forecasting per salesperson can better

Scratchpad Use Case
  • Reporting of pipeline account by account, quarter on quarter with short notes detailing next steps
  • Taking notes during discovery calls and internal account planning meetings
  • Scheduling next step notes for each account
  • Pipeline view is excellent, gives great control and keeps things simple
  • Reliability and speed of app
  • Notes section is a great feature
  • Notes app can be more closely tied to pipeline
  • Outlook integration
  • Tagging features in the notes
  • Task function is a bit too hidden, I would like it to be more closely integrated to pipeline and notes
Well Suited
For those that don't need to muck around Salesforce too much and need a clean view of your opps and accounts and pipeline.
Single source of truth for account interactions. Notes and Pipeline view harmonize well. No more separated notes in Word docs. Now whatever notes I take down on Scratchpad is reflected and saved in my Salesforce.

We use Scratchpad to ensure our opportunities in Salesforce are up to date and a quick way to stay on top of all of our opportunities. It is very easy & efficient. It benefits us as reps and our managers. It is fantastic to be able to update opps super quickly, ensure you're on top of opps by having them on Scratchpad, make sure highlights are ready for the forecast. A game changer!
  • Easy to use
  • Super quick
  • Keeps everything organized
  • Always updated Salesforce
  • None so far!
Scratchpad makes updating opps so easy, easy to view all opps, and I love the templates for notes as well. Everything is in Scratchpad. I always have the tab up to make sure opps are up to date, and my notes from discovery calls are on the same page. So quick & easy! Overall one of my favorite tools to spend less time in Salesforce!

To update pipeline, notes, close dates, view reports, etc.
  • Quick access to Salesforce opportunities.
  • Ability to easily update notes.
  • Ability to see reports.
  • Once you have premium the possibilities are endless.
  • The ability to buy premium for 1 license.
For salespeople who want to make sure they are updating opportunities - it's easy, quick, and a better user experience than Salesforce.

I use Scratchpad to quickly update accounts, contact, and most importantly opportunity details. It's a quick way to surface Salesforce data and edit almost all fields in line. The top things that we must update as AEs are the next steps, sales representative notes on the opportunity, close/launch dates, and steps in the sales process. I'm able to do all of this right in the Chrome browser without firing up Salesforce, and let's face it - the mass amounts of data take a while to load up and edit within the app itself.
  • Edit in line
  • Run quick reports on any Salesforce objects
  • Update forecast
  • Chatter functionality
  • Working with cases
If you're an individual contributor or a full sales team, you'll want to use Scratchpad to be able to run quick forecasting reports and update your notes. Managers will thank you for it - notes and forecasts are easy to update so for the most part your data should be cleaner after using Scratchpad.

We use it to do things that are hard in Salesforce - update pipeline, mass transfer leads, and update opportunties.
  • Updating pipeline.
  • Converting leads.
  • Keeping notes all together.
  • When pulling in Salesforce reports, it doesn't have full ability to do grouping/sorting.
  • When looking at pipeline view there's not an ability to expand the default view to see more than 5 people per group.
  • It'd be nice if comments would go as a task rather than a buzz.
Scratchpad does a good job acting as a better UI for SF. Its benefit is also its fault - it's so customizable with the tiles that less tech-savvy people have a hard time adapting.

We currently use Scratchpad on my sales team. It has helped tremendously create a more consistent workflow. The first and most apparent use case for Scratchpad is within Opportunity Hygiene. I love the fact that I can manage all of my opportunities on one screen and add the fields that work best for me while still complying with our rev ops/Salesforce requirements. It keeps everything clean and allows for an easy way to keep my notes together.
  • Opportunity Hygiene
  • Linking notes to opportunities/contacts
  • Allows me to create tasks to complete and know what is on my calendar
  • Integration with other apps is still developing
  • Everything is customizable which can be overwhelming if you aren't a process person
  • Takes time to incorporate it into your routine
I think the best department for using Scratchpad would be sales for both new business and renewals. I think there are definitely ways to expand outside of these two, but the majority of the sales org would benefit from something like this. It saves reps time and makes work more efficient.

We use Scratchpad to quickly update Salesforce. I mostly use it to update my pipeline and have everything squared away before going into weekly forecasting. I also take all my notes in Scratchpad and organize them by client, quarter, category, etc. Lastly, I create reports and filter them down to get a better look at my account list.
  • Updating.
  • Organizing.
  • Deleting notes.
  • Being intuitive for users.
Scratchpad is very useful for quota-carrying reps like myself. I've used Salesforce in multiple roles, and my current role has a more robust Salesforce, though it takes forever to load. I'll use the command-J feature while prospecting in the LinkedIn sales nav to quickly update things. The account lists would be helpful for BDR roles as well, as they have many accounts to filter through. As SDRs inbound lead reports are pretty straightforward and they don't have a pipeline to update, this may not be the best use case.

We use it for note-taking, task management, prospecting, pipeline management, and pipeline visibility. I personally use it every hour of the workday. It is incredibly efficient and beneficial for all salespeople across all industries and verticals. I personally will not work at another company that uses Salesforce without Scratchpad. It's that good. I never have to interface with SFDC b/c of Scratchpad.
  • Pipeline management.
  • Prospecting ease.
  • Note taking.
  • Task management.
  • Integration with other tools like Superhuman (email).
  • Auto task completion.
  • I can't think of anything else.
Scratchpad is appropriate for SDR/BDR & AE's along with their management. It will allow managers to be able to track pipelines with ease, without having to use the clunkiness of SFDC. It can pull reports of anything imaginable. For AE's, they can easily use the platform to track anything they need to. For SDRs, they can convert leads simply as well.

The issues salespeople have all stem from us not taking notes in the correct place. We make notes and we don't update them to Salesforce. I personally would hate to do that. Luckily from the beginning, I have had the ability to manage everything from Scratchpad. Now I don't have to worry about if I updated notes in the CRM. It's already there! When you have a large book of business it can save you hours every single week.
  • Updates Salesforce automatically.
  • Organizes my notes how I want them.
  • Searches within my notes saves me time when I have back to back meetings.
  • Integrating is easy and not an issue.
  • Ease of use could be just making it easy for me to have files to throw my notes into.
  • Another part would be nice to get better notifications.
This isn't a type of product where it is only well suited for one scenario. As a salesperson you need Scratchpad. If you have longer sales cycles then if this doesn't exist your employer must not like you. All jokes aside there's not much more I can say to hype this up.

I use Scratchpad to take notes on my opportunities as well as to quickly and easily update many types of records such as opportunities and accounts in Salesforce without having to wait for extensive loading times. I sync my Scratchpad notes into Salesforce so that others using Salesforce can easily access my notes and theoretically collaborate with me on the same opportunity with their own notes. I also use Scratchpad to search for records I need to refer to while on any page using the command + J shortcut.
  • Updates fields in Salesforce very quickly.
  • Easy for taking notes and organizing.
  • Great way to quickly search for any record from any page.
  • Would love for Scratchpad to integrate with CPQ.
  • Would like integrations with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Outreach.
If someone is looking for an easy, quick way to take notes during the sales cycle from discovery to close, Scratchpad is a great option. If they need a way to quickly and easily update accounts, pipeline, etc. but their Salesforce takes so long to load, or if they are looking for a way to collaborate notes between teams, Scratchpad is a great option. If their Salesforce loads very quickly and they only need a way to update CPQ (configure price quote) in Salesforce, or they need a strictly prospecting solution that connects LinkedIn to Salesforce, I don't think Scratchpad would be the right solution in that case.

This is a salesperson's dream- the ability to edit all of your opportunities from one screen and attach notes is a game-changer. I will never not use Scratchpad even if I have to buy it myself if my company ever doesn't use it!!
  • Saves a ton of time.
  • Update pipeline with ease.
  • Attach notes easily to Salesforce.
  • Literally nothing!

I can't say enough good about Scratchpad! I use it every hour of every day for all sales and activities I do. It is great for taking notes, sending ops to Salesforce, or even updating Salesforce ops within Scratchpad. Before Scratchpad I was using Google Docs and it was just not very effective. If you are in sales make sure you are using this software!
  • Note taking.
  • Updating ops in Salesforce.
  • Looking up ops in Salesforce.
  • Maybe a better search feature, but not sure what else to improve.
I think this is best for note-taking.

Scratchpad is not only how we stay organized in our selling as well as collaborate with the rest of the company. When it comes to staying organized, I put notes on almost anyone I talk to during my sales day. The beautiful thing is you have the availability to upload these notes you take straight to the CRM. Any notes you are then able to share and collaborate with anyone in your organization!
  • Allow you to take quick easy notes on anything you need.
  • Allow you to share and collaborate on these notes.
  • Upload notes to your CRM.
  • I know there are ways to have excel type charts in your notes, but it's not clear to me how to use that.
If you are like me and are a bit scatterbrained and less organized, Scratchpad is the best way to throw all of your many scattered ideas and keep them all in one easily accessible place. Staying organized and keeping important things front of mind throughout the day is key to being good at sales. Scratchpad allows you to do this.

Scratchpad is my lifeline to everything related to deal management, Salesforce Hygiene, and Notes. I like a lot of salespeople dread the admin side of the job. We really all just want to close deals without having to worry about documentation around it. Scratchpad has saved me hours every week by allowing me to update everything I need to in Salesforce directly from Scratchpad. It's no secret that Salesforce isn't the most user-friendly platform out there and Scratchpad has all the Opportunity fields I need to update in their platform.
  • Scratchpad notes are super easy to use and link to Salesforce Opportunities.
  • Allows you to update all the necessary Salesforce opportunity fields without going into Salesforce.
  • Easy to use Task manager that helps you stay on track through the day.
  • Extremely easy to use and their CS team is always willing to provide training and help.
  • It would be nice if they could add a red color highlight on the tasks and next steps that are past due to help the rep identify what they forgot to do.
Scratchpad is one of my favorite Sales Tools in my tool stack. Scratchpad is suited for any sales rep that dreads using Salesforce and Admin work. Scratchpad streamlines the admin work so we can get back to what really matters; prospecting and closing deals. It initially takes some getting used to but once you find your flow as I did, I can't imagine a world without it. It keeps me wondering how I used Salesforce without it in the past.
